In North Italian South Tyrol inventor Kurt Raffl of Agrarkurtsystem is developing an autonomous, weather-dependent cover for fruit trees.
The weather-dependent foil cover opens and closes automatically within 2 minutes on the basis of actual weather conditions. Sensors for temperature, wind speed, rain and light intensity take care of the control of the cover and in this way protect the crop from rain, hail, spring frost damage and sunburn.
