Spain is the largest recipient of EU funding

Spanish producer organisations are receiving €413 million in European Union funding to finance agricultural production. This represents one third of the total amount of funding allocated.

The money, which is granted to finance the operational programmes of fruit and vegetable producer organisations (POs) and their associations, goes to 407 organisations in 15 Spanish regions.

With 33 per cent of the total subsidy amount, Spain is the largest recipient of this type of support. Spain is followed by Italy with 29 per cent and France and the Netherlands with 15 per cent. (Source: fruitnet.com)
