Drapeau system in fruit growing proves successful

The Drapeau pruning system for stone fruit is a pruning and cultivation system that has proven successful in Switzerland for years. This cultivation and pruning system is also gaining increasing acceptance among fruit growers in Germany. Along with the advantages, such as better growth distribution due to the sloped vine, less overcrowding, and better picking performance, there are also disadvantages that must be considered. During the 2nd Stone Fruit Forum on 19 November in Karlsruhe, stone fruit consultant Othmar Eicher from Switzerland shares his many years of experience to better understand and discuss the advantages and disadvantages of the system.
