In addition to pears, the Netherlands is now also allowed to export apples to China. The Chinese vice-minister for Trade and the Dutch ministry for Agriculture have signed a protocol for this. The question arises, whether this access will benefit Dutch fruit growers. The Netherlands has been allowed to export Conference pears to China for more than ten years now. This export has remained limited to small volumes up till now.
