The Israeli agritech company Tevel has raised $18 million (€15.7 million) to accelerate the development of flying robots for fruit harvesting. The company is working on the development of robots to harvest apples, as well as pears, peaches, nectarines, plums and apricots.

The $18 million Series C funding was raised from a number of investment funds and companies, including Kubota and private investors. Series C funding is a third round of investment for a start-up that has already proven its business model works and is growing strongly. Series C funding is generally intended to significantly scale up production and facilitate international expansion.
