Bull’s eye rot in pears

The fugus Neofabraea, better-known under its old name Gloeosporium, is the most important cause of bull’s eye rot in apple in Northwest Europe. In pear this is Botrytis, but also in pear, Neofabraea can cause bull’s eye rot. During the Güttinger-Tagung, the open day of the Agroscope trial orchard in Swiss Güttingen, researchers Séverine Gabioud and Andreas Naef of Agroscope discussed the infection biology and control of this fungus in pear.
