Ever clearer which new cherry varieties are here to stay and which ones are not

During many years and at various locations assessing new cherry varieties is absolutely necessary to get a reliable picture of the variety characteristics. This again appeared quite clearly also this year during the open day for cherry growers organised by Belgian research centre pcfruit.

This year not only the trial trees of the new cherry varieties at the trial orchard in Sint-Truiden were inspected, but an orchard of fruit grower Christof Hannoset was also visited, with among other varieties, Sweet Aryana, Sweet Lorenz, Sweet Gabriel and Folfer.
