Recently, two varieties, or rather still selection numbers, from the breeding programme of German ZIN (Züchtungsinitiative Niederelbe), received the quality mark of the ECARF (European Centre for Allergy Research Foundation) for low-allergen apples. This means that both numbers, ZIN 186 and ZIN 168 are suitable for people who are allergic to apples. The two numbers are still to be given a name.
