Competition on organic market increasing

Up till about five years ago, the challenges for the organic grower were mainly to be found in growing and crop protection. There was hardly any need for organic growers to worry about sales of organic fruit. This was practically plain sailing and at good prices. The situation is certainly quite different now. As a result of the increased production of organic fruit and also because supermarkets have started selling organic fruit, sales have become a serious matter to worry about.
During the/one of the meetings for fruit growers who are planning to switch to organic growing, organised by DLR Rheinpfalz in June of this year, four organic fruit trading companies offered their vision on the present and future market situations.

In the article in the EFM October edition you can read how they see the future sales of organic fruit.
